| EITI and Cancerbackup team up for the ATC
The Association of Translation Companies 2006 annual
conference took place on Thursday, 21st September 2006
at the School of Oriental & African Studies, University
of London.
Carolyn Burgess, EITI’s Chief Executive, teamed
up with Rose Thompson, from Cancerbackup, for a presentation
called: “The customer is King (or Queen)! The
secret of developing successful client-translation
provider relationships - from the customer and TC perspectives.”
EITI and Cancerbackup, Europe's leading cancer information
charity, hit the headlines in 2003 when they launched
the UK's first national multilingual helpline. The
freephone service provides cancer information and support
in 12 languages: Arabic, Bengali, Cantonese, French,
Greek, Gujarati, Hindi, Polish, Punjabi, Turkish, Urdu
and Vietnamese.
The Association of Translation Companies was formed
in 1976 by a group of leading translation companies
in Britain, making it one of the oldest organisations
representing the interests of translation companies
in the world.
