EITI sends its congratulations to Goole AFC, who, after
a thrilling finale to the 2004-05 football season,
have won the NCEL Premier Division. ‘The
Vikings’ finished the 38-game league two
points clear of arch-rivals Selby Town, and the
FA has confirmed that they have been promoted
to the UniBond League First Division for next
season.
A 3-1 win over Long Eaton United on the last day
of the season saw Goole AFC crowned NCEL Premier
Division champions.

| EITI became
the official sponsor of Goole in July 2004. As
well as helping the team’s fortunes on the
pitch, EITI has worked with the club on a range
of community projects, including a youth academy,
educational workshops for schools and multilingual
anti-racist hotlines for fans from ethnic minorities.
According to Graeme Wilson, the sports editor
of the Goole Times, “the dramatic way that
[EITI] have helped the club move forward has been
the most positive aspect to come out of the town
for a long while.”
Congratulations also go
to Goole Reserves, who won the NCEL Reserve Team
Cup for 2004-2005.
